Hey guys I'm new too Audi's, just getting my first one off of the internet, and I have to have the timing belt and water pump replaced and the turbo fixed as well. Its a 98 A4 1.8t with 136k miles on it and I wanted to know opinions if it would be worth it in the long run? And also how many times have you had to replace water pumps and timing belts?

Hope you are getting the car for cheap. T-belt and water pump are around $800-$1200 at independent shop every 60k miles. Turbo work is all about what you want to put into it. Be sure this is the car you want and don't lock in at the first one you find available. There are many out there that don't need you to drop $2500 just to drive it away.

I already have it I've had it for 4 months and then one night it just randomly stopped working and I took it to the shop it needed all that work. I was debating did I want to fix it or look for another and if it was worth fixing in the long run?

What was their rationale for needing all of that? Just curious if there were hard signs of it or if they just decided to suck as much money out of you as possible.
