Default mass air flow sensor problems

ok my check engine light is reading (p 0102) i had replaced my maf and i am now getting that error. during replacement of the maf a wire broke out of the harness and i had to solder new connectors on. so is there a way to test the new maf to make sure is working properly or does anyone know the proper wire configuration for the harness. my car is a 2000 a4 1.8t. any help would be great thanks

well do you have access to a VAG-COM? if so you need to log block 002. doing this will give you your grams per second(g/s) that the MAF sensor is reading.. good g/s numbers would be around 160-180.. anything lower like 120 and your MAF my be dead or screwed up with your install goof

Isnt grams a measurment of weight? I thought it was gallons per second being a measurement of mass??? "Gallons" does sound strange so im probably wrong...

grams is a measurement of mass
weight is the amount of gravity on something

P0102 is a short to ground on the MAF sensor wiring, I don't have the data on the 2.7T but I have it on the 2.8 which might help diagnose the problem

on the 1.8t i got that same diagram and but there are 4 wires and #2 and #4 are supost to read 1.1 between the 2 and it is reading 7 votls dc and #2 to ground is 5 volts and #4 is 14 volts at idle so i'm thinking that the maf is giving a bad readout does that make sence?

or are you talking about the internal wiring of the maf? not the harness
