Default metal shim between eng. and trans; anyone no where to buy

so i narrowed this annoyingrattling noise from my transmission down to a couple of things. I have talked to several audi owners that had this same problem and couldnt figure it out, instead they put the stock clutch back in... It is either the throwout or pilot(flywheel) bearings or the "metal shim" between the engine and trans. someone mentioned it on here earlier and it makes sense a shop would not put it back on cause of how thin it is. What im asking is if anybody knows where I can buy this "metal shim"??? I want to have all these parts to replace when the trans is off and figure out what was causing this "rattling noise" when the clutch was released and inform you guys what the result is. Anyone???

I would assume that you could get it from your local stealership, but they'll probably bend you over for it. I'd try looking around a bit before you buy anything. there's a few links on this site to vendors which might have what you're looking for.
