you can find a remus muffler on ebay. Not cheap though. if you just take out the mid muffler on the stock exhuast you wont get much if any performance by doing that because the stock mid muffler isnt restrictive. it should sound meaner i guess. if you have the money just get a borla cat back and youd be happy with both performance and sound, even with the resonator.

i don't know if this mod is for everyone...especially the 2.8ers out there...i deleted my mid muffler and it sounded GHEYYYY. it sounded like a kragen fart can $20 special...i had it put back on 2 days later, after leaving it parked for 2 days because i was embarassed to drive it. the mid muffler is the largest muffler in your exhaust, about twice as big as the rear muffler. i got an aftermarket rear muffler put on and it sounds pretty good. not quite loud enough for me but there's no way in hell i'm taking my mid muffler out again.

Anyone know anything about the 'Vibrant' rear muffler?? I've never heard of it, or heard anyone talk about it but, all those car part sites list only that one for the 2.8L

**I just don't have the $$ to go with the Milltek...

Wait, so does the Borla Catback come with a resonator? Is it optional?

Default My 1998 Audi 2.8L

so I recently decided too work on my exhaust. from the flex sleeves back is all new 2.5in piping and everything was removed. cats, and mid muffler. shortly after the flex sleeves it forms into an Xpipe then straight back (with 2 pipes) until right before the suitcase where it joins back into an Xpipe. It then goes into a Magnaflow XL series muffler with resonated tip. It honestly sounds like absolute crap. like angry bees trapped in a coke can... any suggestions would be highly appreciated. thanks
