Wait, back up... I spent $4,000 on the Civic, that I'm selling for $10,000+... I was saying that I will more than likely spend a ridiculous amount of money on a Civic one day. The Full-Race is a lot more than $2,000, the Exhaust Manifold alone is $1,299 for the Pro-Am Top Mount, the GT35R will run me around $2,399, or they provide a kit for $5,299 which includes all of that. Which I will be doing LATER IN LIFE... For now the car needs to be somewhat reliable, so the GTRS will suffice for now.

why dont u build ur engine sure ur not goin to see any power gains really but if ur seriously wanting to go a 35r id be looking into a engine that can handle it being a daily driver as u state. i would also not advise moddin just yet till uve read just about every horror story bc ur gonna have one most all bt never go right as they do in the honda world. its simple to turbo a a honda engine bc there is less areas to trouble shoot. im sayin get supporting mods not ones that ur gonna get rid of later bc u just want some more power right now

Yes, I considered getting an S4... I may take that route.

As for "dumping my money into something that's going to depreciate." Who cares? Money comes and goes. I personally like to ENJOY my money, not have it sitting in some bank account. I'm sure this view will change in the years to come, but for now, I'm 18, and I'm going to enjoy my bank while I can... Before I have a laundry list of bills to be concerned with each month.

I've accepted the fact that I will only get about 1/3 of what I put into a car, out of the car... Well, the case of the Type-R is a special case, I lucked up with that car big time.

However, it has come to mind that it may be smart to sell the B6 for around $15,000 or so, and buy an S4, tapping into only a partial amount of my funds, leaving about $5,000 to let sit in the bank.

But we'll see, first I need to decide whether or not I'm going to sell the Type-R.
oh i didnt realize you were a kid... Now I understand your theory.. But, $10k is a crap load of money for someone your age, I know that if I were your age, I'd be wanting to do the same thing.. Seriously though, if you invested all that, you could a very well off individual after 5 years.. Possibly turn that $10k into $30k.. Are you telling me that wouldnt be worth the time for it to "just sit in some bank account????" It doesnt just sit, it gains interest.. Your money makes more money for you.. You pay yourself... For you to say that it would just sit there is ignorant... Or... Get an S4.

Well see onepoint8tee... I have a very good job, and I don't spend all of my paychecks, most of my paychecks go into an account to soak up interest. Leaving me little money for fun with my cars. So I built my first '94 Civic, mild, but fun. Then I built the Laser... Sold her for a profit. Then I traded the '94 Civic plus a little change from the Laser procedes for the Type-R a few months ago, back when she was a piece of crap. And now that the car is almost done, I can turn around and sell her for $10,000. So I've turned a $2,200 Civic, into $10,000 with a little work, and a lot of waiting. So that money was earned directly from a hobby, thus it should be spent accordingly. In my mind at least. Ha

And Goldenchild... I'm not planning on a Full-Race System when the car is still my Daily Driver. Once the car's payed off, and I've purchased another Daily Driver, I'm going ***** out with my current A4. See what I'm saying?

i still dont understand why you dont want an s4, you chip it you have over 300hp and around 380 ft/lbs of torque. plus that means less mods into the car which would make it more reliable. you keep stressing reliablity and performance i dont see how an S4 doesnt fit that? i would appreciate it if you cleared this up cause if i was in your situation. (which i am but without the 10k or the B6) i would buy an S4 for around 20k and invest the rest. but thats just my opinion
