Might have $10,000 to throw around...
I don't want an S4 because parts are much more expensive, and I couldn't do the work myself... A4 in Inline Four, simple, everything's in front of you, and it's what I'm used to. I would much prefer an A4 over an S4, just personal preferece. I'm not trying to be "the man" with my Audi, just have it more fun. Plus I like my car, and there's no reason to get rid of it. Does that clear it up, or am I insane?
Here's the story... Bought a '94 Civic EX last year at this time. I modified it enough to just free up some ponies, nothing serious. But it was my daily driver, so I didn't want to butcher her too much. Now I work three jobs during warm weather: VP of Service Supply, work a Restaurant Job, and mow lawns for $50 a pop (Run 4 lawns a week, and that adds up). Anyway, so I always had money sitting... So now, I felt like having a fast car. Bought a '91 FWD Automatic Plymouth Laser RS Turbo, did a about $2,000 worth of work to her, had her running high 11 second passes, and parted her out after I had my fun... Made $500 after that was all said and done. Then I bought the Audi, and put down $3,000 of my fun money down on her to make the payments bearable... So now, I had $700 left. Found a poor kid who had gotten in over his head, and needed a running car. He was selling his '92 Honda Civic CX with a full Type-R Conversion done, the car was boosted when he got it, and he parted out the Turbo system... Failing to understand the importance of getting it retuned, and putting stock injectors back in. This essentially lead to the sale of his car, because he thought it was about to blow up because it was running so poorly. So he took my Civic plus $300 for his car. I changed the Injectors, put in a Type-R Base Map... And she's purring now. Now the car's off to get a $6,000 paint job (BMW Metallic Silver for the Exterior, and Engine Bay, and Black for the Roof, and Interior)... Which I'm not paying for, I traded the Type-R seats for this paint job... I've got a suspension in the mail (Tokico Illumina 5-Way Adjustable Shocks, Omni-Power Coilovers, Omni-Power Camber Kit F/R, Eibach Sway Bars F/R, Full-Race Traction Bar, Password:JDM Bracing system) that the stock Type-R Suspension will pay for once I resell it. And now I'm trading the stock Type-R Wheels for some 15x205 Rota Slipstreams straight up. So the car payed for itself pretty much, leaving MUCH room for profit.
Now I've got the Type-R Muffler in the mail (Which is being connected with a mandrel bent 2.25" piping with a Magna Flow High-Flo Catalytic Converter, and 26" Resonator), the RMF Header (Cost me $675... Well worth it, trust me), the Vision Amber Corners, stock EG Taillights, ViS OEM Style Carbon Fiber Hood, Comptech Ice Box Intake ($375... Once again, well worth it), B18C5 Gasket Kit... Because God, it needs it ($179), OEM Integra Type-R Clutch ($350), a second Sparco Sprint Racing Seat with Bracket/Sliders ($350), Auto Power Roll Cage ($250), EK9 Type-R Steering Wheel ($120), and a bunch of Miscellanious pieces to get the car in perfect condition... And after she's done, I'll have a show car quality Type-R Hatchback that I can sell for $10,000+, more than likely I'll get more than what I'm initially trying to get. So I'll have about $4,000 give or take sunk into the car.
This is one of the ways I make my money... Find an investment that I can turn around, have some fun with, and turn a profit once I've had my fun.
So that's how I am getting the $10,000... Haha, you asked for the explaination, sorry if it's painfully long.
