Mileage

I'm in the market for a 00 or 01 A4Q 1.8T. I don't want to spend more than 10k, but most cars Ive found in that range have mileage over 90,000. What does a good A4 get before all the expensive stuff starts to go? I have a friend very into cars who can help me replace the timing belt, install an upgraded turbo/exhaust/intake, but I don't want to have to rebuild the engine. Eventually I may install rods and forged pistons.

Beyond timing belt, control arms, and occasionally wheel bearings, youre pretty much set for a long ride before anything goes. Rods + pistons down the road will make the engine frickin tough as hell and able to handle plenty of power.
