I have an S4 i get about 180 miles to a tank I'm thinking of selling my 2000 S4 6SPD and getting a A4 04 USP 1.8T Auto. I would like to know how much you guys get with one fill up to a tank.

180 Miles!!! Is that the average for all S4's? Maybe I won't get one now.

I get 300 miles on an average tank (400on ahighway roadtrip) with my 2003 A4 1.8T Auto.

 

You know I was feeling really crappy after reading someone's "From 440 miles down to 390" thread knowing I only get around 240miles (2.8), but damn how the hell do you get only 180?! Either you drive at WOT all the time or theres something wrong with your car...BTW you know you'll get less miles with an auto right?

 

yeah i get 180-200 too
im pretty sure its my air filter cuz i havent changed it since i bought my car, which is about 6 months, and im pretty sure it wasnt a new air filter when i bought it, so yeah
also my spark plugs are probably worn too

Yeah anything below 225-250 (or so) means something is wrong. You should be getting WAY more than 180in your S4, and especially in the A4.

And DeusInvictus, you'll want to change your fuel filter, and throw in some fuel injector cleaner in there.

 

Thats a good indicator of how well you engine is running, i ususally get 340 miles out of a B5 S4. Which is actually what your supposed to get when its new. If it runs like crap most S4's will only get 150-200 miles depending on how its running.
