Motor internals
Well, i have an 01 Audi A4 1.8tqm. i want to do motor work, but i dont have the $$$ for a big turbo, and i hear about mass turbo lag on the big ones. My question is...what can i do to my motors internals? I.E. pistons, rods, valves, drankshaft...
what of this can be done, and what will i get out of it? will i be able to get a higher revving engine and mroe power? or are the way these engines built give make them want more external modifications.
I have also never really been a big fan of throwing a big turbo on it and getting shi7 loads of power out of it. I prefer pulling mroe power out of the motor itself, less of just going the easy way that will most likley break something

you mean bore it out to 2 l?
and then y is it so beneficial for ricers to do that to their engines. It makes sence. its that way with all other cars i have worked on, old ones, new big blocks, and japanese tuners

Yes, they are naturally asperated, but that shouldnt effect the performance of the engine. My cousin wiuth an older Acura LS that has a honds del sol engine in it is 1.6L and he is pulling about 210 HP out of it. If he is able to do that with a smaller, NA engine, y wouldnt it be beneficial to do it with a larger, turbo engine.
if my engine was pulling even 170 hp w/o the turbo cinciderd, that would make a HUGE difference.

Our engines have (according to 2bennett racing) VVT (variable Valve Timing). its the same thing, different name. thay is y my engine kicks hard at about 3k, evne if im not in the boost.
