shouldnt the check engine light up when you have a bad O2 or MAF sensor? thats what i was told...
Sorry if this is a dumb question [&:]

both should, but doesnt mean there are not codes.

If you want better mpg, remove weight (rotating mass multiplys this effect), keep tires inflated (slightly over inflated helps), drive resonable, make sure everthing is in working order, and even add an intake and exhaust

I'm curious, how much mileage do you guys get with the 1.8T on a full tank?

Does 250 miles on a full tank sound right?

That does not sound right to me at all. I usually go around 275+ give or takeuntil the needle shows about a quarter tank left. This is usually when I fill up.I average anywhere from 22 in the cold and winter up to 28 in the summer, a highway trip, etc.

i get 200 miles to a full tank on my 2.8 (thats 14mpg) :>... i havent cared much until recently, started off with a seafoam (which worked good, i certainly have 50miles more to this tank), will do fuel filter next to see how that goes. Should have my vag by then, so hopefully will find out if my o2 and maf are bad or not.
But thanks for the answers, i wasnt sure if there is a check engine light when either one goes bad.

Most likely your O2 sensors, which over time will lead to a sh*tted up cat as well as your car runs rich due to bad O2s.

Lots of times the gauges are designed to lie, so that when people run it right down to "E" there's still a reserve there, so they don't flame out on the side of the road. As for sineo, are you asking or telling...? And yes, she does
