Well you can always sell a chip for near the same price you bought it for, so you can still get one, then sell it when you go BT, and you'll enjoy your car so much more. Or you could call Unitronics and ask them if they offer discounts when you get a different chip from them, and use them both times. Eurodyne (C Tapp) might also do the same.

 

well the shop near me said they retune the car whenever u need it for free i think. i havent seen the kid in months so im not sure if i remember correctly. im just wondering if i should save the money by going with the speedtuning, and then just have the inconvience of losing my car for 3 days in the spring, or if i should just drop the $600 and have it tuned locally. i kno i wanna get a chip soon casue i need some more power and dont really feel like waiting for the BT and FMIC.
and whats unitronics?

It is stock, and it will smoke the f150 I traded in. That truck was chipped, efans, intake, exhaust. No contest.

 

yeah i was gunna say at almost 3x the engine size it better be able to beat an a4 in a 1/4 mile.

 

600 is kinda pricey for a k03 chip, but BT software will run you at least 700 so if they're willing to retune it when you go BT for free, i would have it tuned locally.

 

Funny thing happened to me this evening...I gently tapped on the gas in 2nd to pass a Matrix R. I think I got it close to 5000 rpm's. Before I could turn in his lane that thing was right next to me. Surprised the heck out of me!

 

kinda surprised at some of these stories. I know with quattro, stock i have 150Hp, but I'd never think twice about taking on an aztec. After having this car for a few months now, I'm realizing its a real premadona... Really have to keep up with the maintainence and tune ups, my car is 2-3 times faster than when I bought it, and thats just with new MAF, plugs, oil change, cleaning contacts, etc... minor things. Even though it is (relatively) slow, its fun to drive... the longer I have it the harder its becoming to throw on some mods.
