22PSI sustained up to 140MPH? That would cause a "little bit" of heat... just seems wierd the pattern of that hole and whatnot.... and its location.... Anyone know the thermal aspects of the K04 and its hot points?

Yea that is way out of the efficiency but still if people run 27psi daily I dont see how 22psi could be a big deal. Maybe the lack of front mount cause high iat, creating high egts' in return although you would think at high speed the stock ic would be getting decent cooling...I'm stumped but that most likely shouldnt have happened. Try sending borg-warner an email

I wish it only cost my $40, that was to have the valve seat reground etc..in all, including beer it costs just over $400

Tom, turbo was plenty hott, i was working it before the top speed runs too. Wasnt running the right plugs either, didnt help, it misfired when it was cold. I hope nothing wrong with the motor, it ran fine, and looked fine when i opened it up last night. Whats the worst case problem?

Tom, beer is a staple, so you cna't count it as an extra charge :P. So what al did you have to get other than: gasket set, oil and coolant???

I dont think there is enough flow to cool down the Stock IC even at 140MPH. The stock IC is small and positioned at a point to give small flow. (The little grille on the right guides some air... but if your are going fast and creating a wind tunnel effect... the air will swoop over your car instead of going to the IC. With a front mount the IC is the 1st point of contact so not as big of a problem....

With your new setup audiboy get a FMIC or atleast a water/methol injection kit to keep temps down.

Very good point, my bet is the answer lies there. Not enough ic flow cause egt's to get too high.

Um to rebuild mine, i need valve, gasket kit for the whole head, new valve guide, coolant, oil, and machining, and engine assembly grease and silicone sealant. I think thats all besides the beer
