My temp guage is not working. HELP!

My 2001 A4 1.8TQ temperature guage is not registering. Could this be a problem with the sending unit? Need your help to see if this something you have encountered before.

I started having the same problem this winter too. Same year: '01, around 80K miles.

I found the problem!

I suspected it was the sensor part# 059-919-501A and it is. I will be picking up the part tonight and intall it. Total cost is less than $10CDN.
