Temp guage not working on 1998 A4 V6

Default Temp guage not working on 1998 A4 V6
The temp guage is no longer working on our 1998 A4 V6. The ScanGuage is showing 179 degrees. Can this still be a sensor issue or is it the guage? Where do I find the sensor? They just replaced the steering rack so is it possible something got bumped or not plugged back in?

Do a search for "coolant temp sensor" and all the info will pop up.
