mlbull,
First, what makes you think it is fried??Then, I'm originally from Germany. (thats why i couldn't resist to get my hand on a german ride). I just checked at ebay.de, there is one auction for a used one, ebay#Artikelnummer: 7921799391

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...921799391&rd=1

right now at 99euros, $120. New they sell home for 910 euros or approx $1100.
Parts are cheaper where they are made.

mlbull, the dealer is always going to get a premium for any part. SSF and Worldpack are two big distributors of german parts in the US. SSF is in San Fancisco and I think Worldpack is in Ohio. There is also a website that brrman gave me a while back that has been very helpful. They sell new and used Audi parts and are very reasonable. Here is the link.

Shokan Coachworks

Make sure you have the part number off the old one. Hope this helps.
