Well I was going about 40mph in 3rd. Tensioner failed what am i looking at......I knew I was due...This sucks. Do I rebuild or buy used???????? Whats the most economical? Thanks for any advise.

 

Take it to an independent mechanic. A rebuilt head installed could cost around $3,000.

Didn't audi just release something saying they will back us up, up to 105 000 miles or something? Jest -- I think it was you that posted it. Not sure of the likely five hundred lines of small print, and loop-holes to keep them from paying.. but that is an avenue I would try.

Are you the original owner? Dealer maintained? I know that initiative audi is taking has to have many, many loopholes

 

Funnily enough, from what i've heard. Audi US have been really cool about this. It's us here in Australia that got the big *****. We have had our major service due, bought forward to the 90000km mark. (56000mph)
