Default Need a favor, please.

I'll cut right to the chase; could someone with a 98.5 2.8q with sunroof please post the fcc/remote numbers from their working switchblade remote? (or from the sticker on the rear windows)?

Before I am shat upon, I will state that I read the faq on this site, audizine, and the faq on audiworld. My car windows are tinted so the alarm sticker with FCC info has been removed. My car only came with one key, ar regular looking thing with an led embedded. My car definitely is a 98.5 as it has all the trademarks; 30v, different cupholders (non-flip up), click instead of slide center console storage etc. The car has the OEM alarm ala the red LED near the door lock **** and has central/power locks.

I have gone through the replacement process on a 97 before, but that one was un-tinted and had the FCC numbers. The dealer has come down with a case of amnesia and can't(won't) give me the corresponding remote numbers for my car and insists that I should buy a 150 dollar remote from them.

A fellow owner is my only hope, so if someone could help me out, thank you in advance.

I have a 98.5 30v also, both remotes for model years 98-01 work with my car. I don't remember the FCC #s but I know they end in 63 for the four button (w/trunk release) and 64 for the three button (w/out trunk release). Hope that helped.

Just checking out ebay and I saw that the FCC numbers have changed. Either way its the same remote.

Hi there,

Thanks for your experience. The only reason I want the fcc number or the 9-digit number with a letter is because that way it is a sure thing. Without it, I'm forced to trust a "quantity" seller off of Ebay who doesn't even own an Audi.

I suppose I may just have to give it a shot.
