Default Need help with mod idea's

Ok, without explaining why, I have 343 dollars to spend at a local performance shop. I had NO intentions of modding my car at this shop, but, obviously want to spend the money. I have a 2000 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro, with a 5 spd. It has the sport pkg. I already have a stereo that just needs installing (I'm in canada, and waiting for warm weather), and have an amazing deal lined up elsewere for new wheels (I'm going 17's, I had 18's on my previous GTI and HATED how rough it was). That being said, my car has ALREADY been chipped, and I just installed the 710N Diverter Valve (or bipass valve) from the audi TT. What should I spend this money on? haha, not interested in seatbelt covers or anything like that... I do want to get an K&N filter (apparently the stock intake is great, says this forum And was thinking about a B&N short shifter? Maybe suspension mod's that do not lower the car (bushings, sway bars, etc) -- the car cant be any lower, because of the cdn winters tendency to rip low cars apart... I also heard there was a HID fog light conversion... I dont know who does it, or how much it costs, but was of interest to me (I already have the xenon headlamps). One last thing I was thinking about, was a remus exhaust. The shop says I can go Mid pipe back REMUS for 900 dollars even, after taxes. (cdn dollars). So I could keep saving and get that? Saving takes time though, since I just started university.

Anyways, any thoughts or idea's would be greatly appreciated! I hope you understand that I hate rice (though can respect it, if done properly). The remus exhaust I imagine would make the car sound as good as it ever would... but I dont want the car to be annoyingly loud... who knows. Going to stop writing, seeing as how I've composed a short novel it seems for you guys! Thanks in advance! Emailing me would be preferred, so if you could post, and then copy the post and email it to me that would be amazing! This way I'll get the replies ASAP, but the post will have replies so other people can read them. But I will try and check back as often as possible, I like to read the other posts when I have time! chrisrw@gmail.com

Thanks!
Chris

personally a lot of guys on this forum like remus but in my personal opinion I would save a little more and go with a cat back you will notice the performance gain more also if you want to go with suspension you could get sway bars those are around that price range sorry never heard of the hid kit but it sounds cool

BTW where in Canada are u from ?

I went with the green air filter and I am happy with that.
That will help you blow like 60 bucks if you want.

Spend it on gas or something. or put half of it away. take your old lady out to a nice dinner.

if you HAVE to spend it on your car. HKS makes an intake for like 130 USD. talk to slimchriz he has it.

haha, yeah, its at Performance Improvements... they don't sell gas or dinner, to my knowledge I heard the intakes for our cars are a waste of time, and that adding a K&N to the stock unit was the way to go. So that eats 86 of my 343. I keep coming back to the B&M short shifter... hmmm!

Damn thats the first time ever somone has searched the forum without asking that question. Id almost give you an extra $100 to mod your car.... sike.

$343 to spend, hmm. Well a short shifter will help alot, it makes shifting feel nice, precise, exact. I have a V&S SS, not many people have it on this forum but anybody on AW or AZ would reccomend it. They go for ~140. Boost gauge to monitor ya boost, ~80. A test pipe, im using that one cause i just installed one and i saw a big difference in performance ~150-200. A change of oil to synthetic if you already haven't done it. Its the best thing for the car. There are many more things you can do just do what you want.
