Need some Advice
I was looking in the local Auto Shopper when I came across a sharp looking audi.
1999 Audi A4 - 4WD, 2.8 Quatro
80K miles with new tires for $11,640
VIN: -3A0133QQ325-
Im not exactly sure on the amount of Cyl. the car has, I think it might be a 6 cyl.
Just asking for advice with this year and model, wheather or not this year has had problems in the past or what not.
Also whether or not that is a good price for that many miles, I thinks its to expensive for 80K miles but can i please have your opinions
Thanks,
Chuck

I was 2.8L its a slow hunk of junk.
That price is a little too high. With 80k and all major maintenance done you should pay around $9500-$10500. It all depends on what your looking for. If its reliability the 2.8 is a good choice. If your looking to mod then get a 1.8T. Just make sure the timing belt has been changed.
well i have a 1999 2.8.. i had my timing belt replaced at 70k.. and thats a costly job.. i had tie rods replaced at 60k at 65 k my right side upper and lower control arms went..at 75k my seconday air injection pump went..its gonna be different for everybody.. but mainly the control arms, tie rods, and timing belt is what i can think of
Ok thanks, also wanna know if the turbo every craps out after a certain amount of miles. My friend told me that in the newer Audi S4 the turbocharger broke at around 100k miles, just wondering if that is a true fact and if the A4 has the same problem?
i dunno anything about turbo but if u get a (1998-2000 with about 60-70k miles)
the timing belt/waterpump/theromostat/tensioners should be replaced if they werent already. its expensive unless you can do it yourself its about 5-6 hours of labor with the kit your probably gonna pay 250-300 in parts and 350-400+ in labor ..
