Don't my company has a dealers liscence. They didn't get it from Grandma and Grandpa on a trade with a larger dealer. The larger dealer got the car, realized it wasn't worth fixin enough to sell, sold it at auction cheap i can pick up the 1.8 with over 150k miles for 3k so they are almost gonna triple their profit, and then are lookin 4 a sucker 2 believe their flagrant lie and buy a car nearing the end of its useful life unless meticulously maintained which i doubt they can prove and therefore i wouldn't pay .02 for that thing. Dealers are evil, always when possible go private and have vehicle checked out by a trustworthy mechanic. They have a detailer on staff so all their cars look mint to sucker people in. just my .02

I have a 2000 with 155k miles, and no big problems at this mileage, except the exhaust flexpipe broke recently. Plus the 2001, i think, has more hp. but that price seems steep coming from an independent garage.

as far as cost goes, thats normal, but not for that amount of miles. just keep looking, somthing a little older, like 98-99 you can find for like 4-5g's
Okay, I might have found another one, a 1999 1,8t with 80200 miles (supposedly highway). The guy says he's just moved to London, and can't afford to have the car fixed up to Euro standards, so he's selling it. The price he's asking is 2900, but that sounds really suspiciously low. And I have no way of seeing it, so I can't go check it out. I'd have to trust him (and ebay payment options) to deliver it (something about US military transport because he's in the military) to me and not run away with my monies. Should I consider this?

That's an extremely low price.. is that the lowest bid so far? was the starting bid at zero?
Anyway, I would never buy a car I can't inspect or have inspected. See if you can find someone on this or one of the other Audi forums to have a look at the car for you. I've heard eBay has great policies in place for dealers who auction off cars.. but I don't know what their policy is on private sellers.
