On a 1.8t 2002, if the thrust bearing is scorred can that be replaced. If so, how much. Also if the bearing is scorred can that cause the engine to ping. My motor pings really bad sometimes. (GIAC) Thanks

93, if I put race gas (100 octane) for a tank full do you think it might reduce or completly remove the pinging?
