I just got my brakes fixed and my brakes still squeal...maybe even worse. The rotors and brake pads are brand new and the brake pads are from the dealership since I thought the ones from Napa might have been the problem. Well there not since my brakes still squeal. The rotors where wiped clean and some of the anti-squeal stuff was put on the pads. So does anyone have any suggestions to why it is still making noise? My husband is tired of me asking him about it..espcially since he is the one who fixed them and I know he know what he is going since he is a car freak!!
Any suggestions would be very helpful!!

 

The brakes you replaced, were they old or new?

 

how long has this been goin on, casue after a short time it should stop

 

Well I just got the car in May of this year and its a 2001 so I am sure the brakes were old. But the pads and rotors that we just replaced are brand new.

Also we just replaced them about 2 weeks ago...so maybe I am just picky about the noise but it is annoying. So should a short time be about 2 weeks or maybe a little longer?

 

shouldnt be that long i know when i changed them in mine it did it for a few days but then finally went away.

check and make sure nothing is rubbing the rotors or anything
