Try coil pack/spark plugs, if not that MAF and could possibly be one of your valves not opening when it should be.

I replaced the coil packs, seems to be doing a lot better, did the muffled noise once or twice in 30 minutes of driving maybe for 2 seconds, before it was for like 20 or 30 so maybe it needed the new packs and just needed to clean the crap out? I don't know. The car got in a rear accident before I had it and I think the ECU got hit stupid, the next thing I'm going to replace is that and the gas tank/fuel pump. What is the MAF? Never heard of that. The power control module, the one mounted in the rear right corner needs to be replaced too.

mass air flow sensor, sits in the air box

might also be the ignition control module(known issues) starting to go bad, sits on the heat sync on top of the airbox..... did you change plugs while you had the coils out?

i'd definatly change those if not..... ecu is up front in engine bay no way the accident hurt it

doubt the accident hurt the pump either, 174 k it might be time for a new one, but that is not a rush thing imho

don't buy electronics from autozone
