S4 hands down. A4's are nice, but if you can afford an S4 go for it.

Total cost, if an S4 is around 20,000 plus 6,190 for an RS4 upgrade kit from APR will get you into the twelves easy. A 10,000 dollar A4 with about 6000 dollars in a GT2871 or a GT3071 turbo and associate hardware(clutch, FMIC, exhaust) and tuning will get you into the twelves, but it will not be easy, necessarily.

On the other hand, you could probably get into the 12s with a remap, an exhaust, some slicks and a clutch if you bought an Evo. So it's your call, really. A4s are more modifiable than S4s, you just have to work harder on an A4.

If you have the $$$ go with an S4. So much more potential. But then again, with more potential comes more $$.

Yeah S4 for sure... the whole package is better.
Nicer car inside and out... bigger brakes, better suspension, nicer wheels (if that matters)... just plain nicer.

And the fact that a simple chip gives the S4 like 319 hp or something isnt too shabby. K04'd S4's are monsters.

What ever happened to imola? Hmm.
