Default New Edition to the Air filter Debate

Hey everyone....

check out this link to ebay....I know the info is long to read but I think it might be the answer to or another question....lol to the on going debate of air filters for our cars....I have sermized that the oem mann is probably the best b/c it wont kill the MAF and it actually flows better clean than the K N or others, but this one caught my attention...let me know what you guys think...I was thinkin about gettin it to try out

RAM FILTER

No way, doesn't have me convinced. Something about using foam media to trap tiny particles that scares me.

Actually foam filters work really well and flow very well the only drawback is that they are expensive

Foam may be better but that one for $15 looks pretty shitty the pores are huge

But foam filters still need to be oiled, just like gauze filters.

it is over oiling that kills MAF. Just go with OEM Mann filters.

Even if you did put that foam filter in there, you would notice NO, I repeat NO HP gains. So what's the point?

That filter looks similar to what Amsoil uses, except Amsoil doesnt make one for the 1.8t. I would be curious what the micron filter rating is of this one.
I have been using the Amsoil one in my wifes car for about 5yrs now, it works great.
