Default New England: All Seasons OK with Quattro or spring for winter tires?

Hi,

I'm a new member from the Boston area and will take delivery of my first Audi tomorrow (2006 A4 2.0T Quattro Sedan - Sunroof/Premium/Bose) The car has 17" wheels with the stock all-seasons. My question is whether all seasons will be fine for 2 New England winters with Quattro or I should spring for winter tires (I did make a couple of trips up into NH last year). I've had winter tires in the past and they were awesome in snow, but I kind of hate to spend $700 plus for winter tires given that I'm just leasing this one for 2 winters.

Thanks (regardless of this issue, really just looking forward to getting the car and driving!)

Sweet car! Post a pic or 2.

Being from Connecticut (originally), and driving to Vermont several times a year, I would say that you should be good with what ya got. If you need to truck around in the really rough stuff, then I would say spring for the winter tires, but any time it gets that bad, you probably don't need to be out anyway (but DAMN is it fun).

Depends on your money situation, and the need. For most, I would say stick with the all-seasons.

I was debating also, but decided it wasnt worth the hassle of changing the tires out before and after winter, and storing the tires that are not being used. From what I've heard a set of all seasons really should be good enough.
