Default Help - winter tires for 99 A6 Quattro

Hi all,

I hope this isn't too dumb a question but .. I need winter tires and have the opportunity to buy 195/60/R15 tire/rim package. These were from a 98 A4. I wanted to know if these would fit a 99 A6. I believe standard OrigEquip is 195/65-15 or 205/55-16 for the A6. Thanks!

Go to www.tirerack.com. That site will tell you which tires will fit your vehicle.

Thanks. Did a quick check and from what I can tell, the aspect ration difference 60 vs 65 should not be a problem. My other concern is bolt pattern. From what I can gather both the 98 A4 and 99 A6 should have a 5/112 bolt pattern - can anyone confirm this.

The A4 and A6 share bolt patterns of 5x112 and offset of 35mm. I believe the wheels will fit your car without problem and the aspect ratio, while not perfect, isn't bad.

you can also check out 1010tires.com
they have a size calculator on there and it will tell you the overall diameter of you tires and wheels. this way you know how fast you are actually going. dont forget, speed is calculated at the driveshaft not the tires.
