Make sure that the wheel / tire sizes are uniform - if you buy a staggered set-up, there are a few tricks that you need to do in order to make it work fine.....

the wheels that i have on my car right now are 205/60 and im looking to put on 225/40. Will that be a problem or is it all in the rims i choose?

The main thing you want to do is to keep the rolling diameter of the four wheels/tires the same. Don't want to run 225-40 tires up front and 245-40 in the rear - from what I've read, that kind of thing will screw up the Quattro. But there's not really any reason to stagger the tire size on an AWD car, other than looks, unless you'rea real understeer fan. Get your 18s, get four tires the same size, and you're good to go. Besides, rotating tires is easier that way

I don't see how having different diameter tires will affect the quattro system. I mean its only changing the area of the contact patch. I think you don't want to be running a staggered setup like having 18s up front and 19s in the rear. Of course if its FWD it doesn't matter.

You guys may be right about that - this is one of the thingsI was curious about when I first got to AF, and this was the way I interpreted what I read. I may well have misinterpreted what I read though, and mistaken staggered wheel size (as in diameter) for staggered tire size. If that's the case, my apologies - I just took it to mean keeping the same tire sizes front to rear.
