what do you mean. (sorry i am new to the whole audi thing and only know about my car specifically ahha). someone above said that if u buy a turbo u need a ecu program too?

that is what the chip is..... they put a chip on your ecu and program it on a computer for different engine specs.

It would run better if you got ko4 software with the turbo but it's not necessary.

I'm at work right now, otherwise I would post a link to the classifieds section in AZ where you can get a new K04 and install kit for about $800. You need a K04-15 for the upgrade. For software, you can go with GIAC or APR.

Yah the ko4 is worth it, but im getting back pressure and the smoothness throught the rev range is pretty poor, especially under slow acceleration. Ive had 2 huge backfires since i installed the turbo 2-3 months ago. Maybe this is effecting the smoothness but i have exhaust and dont understand why the cat might cause such a problem.

A boost leak may also be the cause along with many other factors. Have you gotten your car scanned for codes?
