hello all,

im new to this site, and also i do "not" own an Audi "yet" but i do plan to buy one within the next month or two, but i want to ask for some advice, im thinking any year around 98-02, A4 1.8t. how much do u think those baby would run? these are just basic question for right now, how are the a4 for those years? any problems with eng. or electrical ..etc that i can work on myself or more like bring it to an dealership and have them work on them.

when test driving the car, what should i be on the look out for? sound? eng rev? etc.... please help i do want an audi a4 but i know little about euro-cars. any advice would be great. the more knowledge the more better. thanks for taking your time to look at this thread.

Welcome to the forum Petermen! when looking at the years u suggested u have a choice between two different body styles the b6 which began in 2002 and the b5 which were 2001 and down. The b6s(2002-2004) will run a little bit more then the b5 probably with 50 ish thousand miles ur looking at 17-20,000 dollars. Depending on where you live of course. And the 2000 to the 2001 b5 had a jump in horsepower from 150 to 170. so the 2001 is going to be more expensive as well.
