Just bought a '99 A4 and will start by asking what is the difference between a '99 and a '99 1/2. Is that when they went from 2valve to 5valve on the 2.8? Mine is a 2.8 5valve Quatro 5 speed. Thanks.

 

Nope. I think 30v were a much earlier development. I wanna say MY97s were already 30Vs.

Thanks! It's a 99 1/2. Another quick question, the trip meter blinks inspect upon start up and goes off after a few secs. Normal or is there something that needs a look? p.s.it only took a mile to fall in love with the car!

Model year 98 is when Audi switched the 2.8 over to the the 5 valve, thus giving it 30V total and a whopping 190 hp. LOL. Pre 98 was 12V, so your 99 is the 30V.

Dog, In the 1999.5 year Audi introduced projector headlights, moved the fog lights into the lower bumper, illuminated vent dials, different taillights, different badge location, etc etc
