Hey Everybody

I was wondering if someone could shed some light on my Ipod question. I just recently picked up an 08 Audi A4 Avant with Nav and Ipod connector in the glove box but when i connect my Ipod i only see tracks on my Screen ( Track 1,2,3 etc ) not the title of the song and the name of the artist. Is this the way it should be ? or is there a setting that i can change to make it come up on the screen.

i don't know anything about the b8 but if it's anything like my b5 there is a button to turn that on and off. I forget exatly what it's called but it's something like RBDS or RDBS.

 

Sounds like the RDS setup (Radio Data System) which is there so that areas that use radio frequencies to broadcast travel tips, bad weather, accident notices, etc, can let you know what you're facing up ahead. I didn't think that would work with the iPod also though - but I don't know.

 

are u sure it's an ipod connection or an mp3 connection? if it's the conection where u can set ur ipod straight up then it should work. if it's like the round connection where it's like a headphone jack then no it won't work. if it doesn't work, see if u can find anythig in the owner's manual or one of the books that came with the car. if all fails take it to the dealer.

The ipod itself connects in the glove box into this connecting slot so it's not connected thru an AUX input. but i just checked the instructions manual and it says that it won't show Title or atrtist [:@] that sucks with all the songs i have on my Ipod I'm unable to search thru them to find what i want to hear. It's really stupid because i have over 300 songs on my Ipod and all i can see is Track 1,2,3 etc so there is no way for me to go thru my songs. But i have seen it on other Audi's ( A6 A8 ) and it did show the title and artist??

 

it rly is supposed to.

 

I will pass by my dealer tomorrow and see what he tells me.
