Audi b5 2.8 Automatic ZF 5hp19 going into reverse 1st and second but when it needs to go into 3 it sounds like it is in neutral when i take my foot of the accelerator and the car slow down to 20 KM/H it engage second, and can drive till it needs to go into 3d again
No fault codes on VAG-Com how ever the Vac Com show it is in 3d Gear
I CHANGED the following
Transmission OIL, Shifter , Range selector switch , TCM (Was flooded with water)

I'm going to say you're probably in what a lot of people call 'limp' mode....Are you SURE you do NOT have any codes? You ARE using a correct VAG COM? Do you have any trouble lights on on the dash? Any at all?

As to your NEW replacement TCM....did the part number match EXACTLY? As every little number AND Letter? the TCMs are NOT interchangeable as far as I know......it has to match exactly to the old one.

I'm thinking that would explain why the VAG says it is in 3rd gear as you stated-wrong TCM or a bad one...it will drive around in the SAME GEAR....you can not just take any old TCM from any other Audi and put it in there...it has to match transmission type, engine, accessories etc....

If you drive around WITHOUT a TCM, you will cause MORE damage....
