The seafoam will clean out all the gunk in the engine. There's lots of write-ups on how to sea-foam your car. Just search.
If for some reason your engine seizes up due to oil sludge, AOA might replace the engine for you, at their discretion. You need to keep all your oil change receipts as proof that you have been using AOA-approved synthetic oils in your engine at regular intervals. You can ask auditech79 about the oil sludge warranty. He can explain it much better.

Duburban had it 1st, when I first read the question I wondered whereCoBra03 lived. I too live in upstate NY, and yup that really is just the weather. If you don't get the oil up to 212°F the water doesn't boil off. After repeated short trips with a sub-212°F oil you'll accumulate enough water so that it can begin emulsifying, which is that cream colored foam in the photos. Even synthetic oil will do it, although to a lesser extent.
By all means change the oil to your preference, clean the cap, and keep an eye on it. That means everyday for a week or so. If you see traces of emulsified oil, take the car for a ride into the hills, put some heat into the engine, get your oil hot. Open the cap when you get home and the oil should be clear again. The more you let accumulate the longer you need to drive the car to boil the water off.My2.8 used to need a nice 90 minute cruise every couple of weeks in the winter to stay clean. It won't happen in the summer. I haven't seen any on the 2.0, (I've only had it 3 weeks)but I should look (thanks for the reminder).
Think of it as, just one of those wonderful added benefits to living in the great white north (no white at the moment).
