OBDII Plug Location on 2001 A4 Avant

OBDII Plug Location on 2001 A4 Avant

Hello,
Does anyone know where the OBDII Plug is for this year/model. Got a Check Engine Light and a friend of mine as the diagnostic equipment to read but don't know where the plug is.

I have '01 sedan. The plug is located driver side, under dash, near driver's door.

Yeah it is mandated for OBDII specs to be located within reach of the driver

And how does you friend know how to use and OBDII scanner and not know where the plug is?

On the '01 A4 and probably other years, there is a symbol on the bottom backseat side of the armrest that indicates that the OBD port is under the armrest assembly even though it is actually under the dash.
