Default Oil Change 1.8T

So instead of taking it someplace to get the oil changed I plan on a DIY this weekend. I'm gonna use 5W-40 Mobil1 but as far as the filter goes, I'm seeing these ones:
Mobil1 -
M1301
K&N -
HP3001
Bosch -
72211

Then for the drain plug I'm not sure if I have a M26-1.50 or a M14-1.50. I've seen both. So which filter should I look at getting or should I just get one of the kits from ECS?

Best to get a Mann or Mahle filter from ECS tuning, they are just as good as the factory filters.
Whatever you do, don't put a FRAM filter on. [:'(]

Ok. I just found out that I've got to go relatively close to the local Audi dealer. Think I should just get the parts there or are they gonna make my wallet feel lighter than it should?

If you're going to buy the OEM filter, I suggest you buy from a VW dealer, not an Audi dealer. It will be cheaper at VW.

Use the mobil1 filter. Its a microfiber filter unlike the ordinary paper filters, plus its a larger diamter. Valvoline, mobil1 or amsoil are all good choices.

You can getyour oil and a Mobil 1 oil filterwhich is the updated larger sizefrom adavance auto parts or autozone. Youll pay less anywhere other than the dealer for sure. Parts from any dealer are insanely marked up.

Yeah. If you'd go to a dealer, I would go w/ VW. For some absurd reason, VW charges less than Audi for the same flippin' part!?!? Ex/ a gallon of coolant, $32.00 from Audi, same part; VW's $23.00. go figure.

frams filtration is lower than others. Not sure how the higher cost ones are, but the basic filter is so so.
