Default Oil Pan Gasket

I need help, I am really confused. I have an oil leak and it looks like the oil pan gasket/seal is bad becauseall around it theres oil. Now,I have been reading a lot trying to figure out how to replace the gasket, I've read some posts saying that I'm going to need to lift the engine a few inches, I have also read that you wouldn't need to do that. I noticed there is a sway bar type thing in the way I know this is blocking the way of some bolts, do I completly remove this? Can anyone clear things up for me or point me to a DIY write up if theres one... Any help will be appreciated, Thanks...

First off the gasket is a liquid that dries when you install it. (dealer part)
As for changing the oil pan (IF you have a 1.8T) you do need to either lift the engine or use a jack on the tranny housing to lift the engine to get enough room to sneak it out. You have to remove the sway bar and lower motor mount housings, as well as drop down the subframe. This isn't a job for a novice, so take it to a mechanic if you don't know what im talking about.
