Hey everyone, i was wondering what the normal temperature for the oil in an audi b5 is suppose to be?
when i first got my audi the temp. was sitting at 150 but now that i got an oil change it moves betwwen 175 and 200.
Is this bad?

 

If you use thinner oil it will run hotter, so if you put in 0w instead of 10w it will go up.

Also, mine has gone up 25 degrees on average with the outside temp change as well...

 

that makes sense cause i put 5w. so its not a bad thing.

 

Your temperature looks good. It might go as high as 225
in hot weather.

 

At what temp does it get "too hot."

 

I would be a little worried if the oil temps ever rose above 250. The hottest Ive seen is about 235 and thats after driving like an *** hole for a long period of time.
