Default Oil/Turbo Question

Well, i have been pissed because im only getting between 12 and 15 pounds of boost where i used to get 21 spikes and 19 holds.

well, i was thinking about how our turbos (k03's) have "oil bearings" meaning the oil pressure allows the turbo to spin well and i was thinking that maby since i have been putting in i thing 5 weight heavier than recommended in it could be part of my problem

if this is bad, understand that the reason i used the heavier oil is becasue as engines ware, the gaps become bigger from rubbing so heavier oil helps to lubricate better

any thoughts?

you know if you do regular oil changes with approved oil you are fine. Take that oil out and use the normal stuff. If you want to check your engine do a compression test.

You either have a boost leak, vac leak, or a weak dv (my bet).

so what is your vac at and what dv?

What type/viscosity of oil are you running? hopefully either 0w40 or 5w40 synthetic.

erm, its either 10w30 or 10w40

i have a balies DV. i tried a compression test with the tennisball idea but its crap. i had to coat the ball in electrical tape to get a seal and it still leaked out of it. and the compressor is small as crap

my idcle vac is like 25 ish i think

you might want to change your oil and possibly add more preload to the dv.
