Ok now be honest...
I live in maryland so the hottest it gets on average is in the low 90s and the coldest it gets on average is the low 20s. Now there are days where it gets slightly colder or hotter but on average its 30s-40s in the winter and 70s-80s in the summer. I will use the belt as a bargaining tool, and look at getting it done for peace of mind around 60k
i'm running 87k on original belt. i openend the cover just to see the condition, doesn't look too bad but i'm chaning it in 3 days anyways.
i just recommend checking the belt from time to time, it's easy cuz all u gotta do is snap off the clip on the cover and pull it forward to see it. 5 second job.

The Audi is obviously more luxurious and appealing, with great build quality, beautiful styling, solid road manners, and that tightness you only get on German autos. Plus you get Quattro! But I guarantee you will have to throw more $$$ into the Audi.
The Subaru is a good solid car, better gas miles, great awd system in itself (but not as good as Quattro), and will be practically bomb-proof in terms of reliability. The thing will drive forever as long as you select a good used model.
It's a toss-up, but with all said and done I would go with the Audi. Good luck

actually in this case the audi gets better mileage then the suby. As well as more power so I wont wonder what mods I need and Ill keep it stock.
Other things to look for are worn tie-rods or control arms on the front.
So, if there is any play or noise in the steering, that is the culprit.
Wheel bearing noise also, those are prone to failure.
Other than that and t-belt, not to much to look for.
What year is the audi? That can give other minor things to look at depending on year.
