Ok fellas, my cup holders are from hell. Any suggestions on "re-vamping" the pre-'99 cup holders so they are functional??????

 

i actually liek the ones under the arm rest, cause when a can of soda is open i can just push down the arm rest to keep it from spilling.....but then again i always forget about drinks there and they sit there for a long time [8D]

 

Have you ever pushed down TOO hard and have your drink go everywhere? I have.... that sucks!!!! I need a better alternative!

 

lol nah i've avoided that, somebody on here did a vdub cupholder mod, idk who it was...he'll probably see this thread though.

 

the cup holder on dash over the cd player and center console sucks big time, everytime i put a can and its lil bit more then half in it and i'm shifting or hit a whole in the road or w/e there is it spills and then i get these spills all over and if i close that cup holder now it gets stuck, totally sux goes all over the radio buttons also

 

The cupholders on my 1996 Audi A4 are much better than the dash-mounted flipouts on my 2001 VW Passat. I finally resorted to buying the armrest inserts for the Passat; $15 for $0.15 worth of plastic, but they do work. Don't even ask me about the rear flip-out cupholders on the Passat.

 

yep mine suck. i dont know whats worse though, the cup holders, or the horrible idea to line the bottom with felt.
