OMFG HOLY SH!T - MY CAR IS F*CKED!
I was driving my car and my brake light has been blinking all day today and yesterday. I figured I might need to get my brakes checked or something. about 10 minutes ago I go to drive home from a friends house and my car gets verrrry loud. I can hear my turbo spinning and the exhaust is louder then a mustang. I pull over in a frantic and pop the hood. I point the flashlight to the turbo and the thing that is connected to the turbo , I think its called the exhaust manifold , it is completed cracked and seperated from the turbo. I dont know what the heck part it is but it is cracked and there is about a 3 inch gap between the turbo and that thing.
1st question is - WTF is that thing thats cracked?
2nd - Should I bring it to a mechanic?
3rd - How much would it cost me to fix it? ( meaning how much is that part so I can do the labor)
i put the turbo on , looks like i did something wrong
PLZ PLZ PLZ HELP ME , thank you AF!
***EDIT*** - I dont think its the exhaust manifold. Its the part of the turbo where it connects to that big red tube that goes towards the bottom of the car. Thats the part.

Picture would be helpful.
You can probably obtain salvage parts from Shoksan or dads auto. These are two salvage companies that specialize in Audis.
From your description, it doesn't sound like you are the DIY type, so take it in to be fixed.
What turbo did you put on?

if its that its not a big problem. but i saw ur post when u put it in, sound like u may just need to rebolt it? if the exhuast pipe is broken, trust me, it no the end of the world. very easy to fix. just remove the flange and the cat pipe and take it to a welder, they could fix it for like $20.

Yup, cat is busted. They get so brittle over time and when your did your turbo swap it probably got manipulated around a bit and jerked on etc. and once it went throug several heating up and cooling cycles it took a crap. I'd get it welded, that would be cheapest. Sounds like this problem started earlier this week, or last weekend in your thread complaining about the HSSSSSSSSSSSS noise.
