the car runs horrible without the cat. Its too late , the guy has my car and hes going to get it done by today for 250

Please tell me 250 is worth the time and labor so i dont have to do it.

 

Doesnt sound tooo bad. If he charged $75/hour in labor that would be a few hours which sounds about right. I would have just bought a new cat or test pipe and done it myself for the same cost, but if hes already tearing it appart i guess theres not much you can do about it. You did give him the go ahead to re weld right? If not you could argue that you didnt sign anything or tell him one way or the other.

 

$250 is a good price for an installed replacement. The bolts that connect the cat to the downpipe usually rust and have to be cut. It's not easy.

 

Definitley. Get a high flow cat (you still need to pass emissions)

 

just pay the guy off to pass you

 

+1 or live in a decent place that isnt gay and requires emissions testing

 

how many of you actually have to do emissions testing? i live in columbus, ohio and have never had to do it before. however, many parts of ohio do. you would think that if would be a state policy, but apparently not.
