it was fine all day, no codes present. now.. tonight after driving 20 miles into town i shut off the car and an hour later went to start and it did the same thing. I changed the fuel filter today hoping that would solve it. Should i try disconnecting the battery to "reset" it. Seems almost like the idle is very low. It has been very very hot the last 2 days 90 degrees plus. Does the heat play a factor in it? its just very frustrating that this problem is intermittent

we cant really help you unless you get the codes.. it could be the MAF.. it could be anything.. get the codes pulled

 

there were no codes to be pulled..

 

how hard was it to change the fuel filter? DIY? i'm looking into doing this as preventative maintenance after i fix my boost leak. sorry i can't help with your problem. try the TBA. let us know what happens.

fuel filter is a very simple job, as for the other guys problem it sounds like a vacuum pipe problem

Get scanned... But also replace your coolant temp sensor, its a $6 part. Thats a common symptom, and the sensor has been revised due to early failure. How many miles do you have? Deffinately get scanned. it also helps us help you if you list your engine type/year etc.

 

i got it scanned and nothing comes up, car has 160k on it, its a 96 with 2.8, where can i get this sensor for $6?
