Opinions on purchasing extended warranty
I just bought an 02 a4 3.0 liter 6 speed. It is going to turn 50k here in about a month. I am contemplating on whether or not to purchase the extended warranty. They want $2100 to extend it for 4 years and to 100k. For those of you who have over 50k on your a4 what issues have you ran into/heard of? Do you think it is worth it that I purchase the extended warranty?

did you buy it at an audi dealership?? if so then it should be certified and automatically given you the extended warranty. if you didn't then i would get it. only if they cover the timing belt too. cause that alone will cost you quite a bit of cash to change. and thats due at around 60-65k.

Here is what the warranty doesn't cover:
Glass, lenses, sealed Beams and Light bulbs
Brake Rotors, Drums, Pads and Shoes
Exhaust and Emission Systmes
Spark Plugs, Wires, Cap and Rotor
Battery, Shocks and Clutch Assembly
Safety Restraint Systems
Wipers, Hoses, Belts, and Fasteners
Trim, Moldings, Upholstery and Carpet
Bumpers, Body Work and Wheels
Do you still think it is worth it?

It does cover the timing belt. Here is pretty much what is covered:
engine, transmission, transfer case, drive axle, cooling, steering, brakes, electrical, fuel delivery, air conditioner, front and rear suspension, enhanced electrical (excluding what I listed a few posts above)

buy it, all the parts you listed are wareable items. There isnt a warranty in the world that will cover those items on a used car. It will save you money if you use it, dont be afraid to take it in for any little sound, shimmy, noice... most people who buy E.W. never use them,
