3 fuses a battery and 4 spark plugs later it runs again. On a side note the clicking sound that was happening when the car was cold went away too, kinda random.

thanks for all the help!

another side note, are iridium plugs really worth it? I was debating between them and the regular platinum ones that are 1/3 the price.

Depends on your engine. If you are 1.8t, plat and irridim is junk.. You want copper, especially if you are chipped or more. If you are 2.8 plats should be fine.

I wouldnt put a champion plug in my worst enemies butt. Get NGK BKR6E, needs replaced every 10k miles or so but are $1.89 a piece and perform better than plat.

So on the same topic, my car had 91k miles on it... other than the timing belt and the plugs I am about to replace what else should I be looking at doing to my car? I tried to search it but came up with nothing concrete, is there a good link of a spot to see what maintainace I need to get done?

Nothing else really.. Check your valve cover gasket, youll need to replace your coolant when you do the timing belt so make sure you get the right stuff (audi g12 or pentosin g12) keep up on oil changes and keep it clean. Maybe fuel filter as preventative maint.
