ok wussup all first off.

aight so i called up the audi dealership service shop to get a quote on how much it would cost me to have them install, my new struts(4) and new sport spings(4).
-ok first of all, i have a buddy that has a degree from wyo-tech for car maintainence. he says he will do it for 250$. sounds good ya?
- 1st problem, dont know if he knows much about audi's.
- 2nd problem, my car was orignally in chicago, rust!!
- 3rd problem, Im worried he is going to run into a stuck bolt or something or worse break something..... then i cant even drive....

the quote i got from audi was $871.85!!!! that includes the $169.95 4-wheel alignment, which i will probably have to get anyways after this guy installs the parts..

i need some info for some 1 that has done this themself or could give some input on if this guy can do it....
i know its just going on hear-say but for some 1 with a degree on in maintainence, he should be able to work on german cars also right?

There are a couple bolts on the front suspension that will be hell. They are called pinch bolts. Were you actuallyexpecting some kind of fantastic deal getting a quote from the dealer?? Your friend should be able to get the job done if he can follow directions and turn a wrench. Just be sure to allow him more than enough time to get the job done.

Im sure your buddy will be fine doing it with some directions like any other mechanic.

 

sound like you have an expen$ive buddy I remembered the 1st timesIdid it onmy Audi...didn't know anything about Audi's...it tooks me like 4hrs with simply follow intruction....but now I can do it 1hr or less...yeah..."pinch bolts"...my car came off ok...but whenI helped my buddyinstall his suspension (free of charge []...thats what buddy are for ) we ran into that problems...pinch boltsrusted...took a while to get it out with lotsssss of wd40....just make sure when re-install them to put some anti-seize on them.... so next times around it would be so much easier...good luck....and have fun [sm=burnout.gif]

and as for him being my "buddy" its some 1 i know thru some 1.
lol havent even met him yet. But his wife is best friends with my girl so yeah.
aight so alot of wd40 and anti-seize when he installs it.

use pb blaster instead of wd-40. it works better
