I was thinkin that, but it's kinda hard to get under the cover as it's not coming up completely off.. Will glue gun ruin the paint? not that it matters, but just curious.

 

most glues for glue gun will not harm the paint.

Some bodyshops use glue guns to attach eyes to pull out dents.

DIY tip, glue a full gluegun stick in the dent you want to fix. Attach a self locking pincer (welding pincer) and use a slide hammer to pull out the dent.
Use a hot air gun to remove the gule.
Polish when you're done.

 

it sould be no problem I use it for things like that its the best way and better than superglue which makes things white " not very clever on a black car "

 

If you think you can do it without getting it everywhere, go to the autoparts store and look for emblem adhesive. It eats the paint and then bonds to the metel. works wonders. And it will never come loose again. I was thinking you could tape around the handle and then with a tooth pic or something get it in there.

 

sounds dangerous haha.. I'm not too good at not being messy.. I'll try the glue gun method first
