I'm building a car on Audi's website and was wondering why some of the paint options cost more than others? For example, does a metallic paint job look better than a brilliant black? Does one paint job protect from rust better? Why are their $475 paint options and $750 options? Just curious.

 

They all protect the car the same. The different cost comes mostly with the different cost of the paint.

 

Audi's are galvinized steel they do not rust

 

They offer general colors at no cost and if you want premium ones you have to pay extra. I'm sure it's just marketing strategy.

 

possibly some are 2 tone paints, and others are 3 tone? i know for sure that my car (pearl white 96 a4) is the 3 tone paint
