Default Paintin rims or a portion of the rims.

i got to thinking.....and yeah i know i'm not paid to think.

my rims, while nice. Actually i really like them. I want to have a bit of flair to them.

you see the ledges in the triangles?

so here is my idea....

sand/scuff that clear up so new paint will hold.

Then paint a Nice red to match the interior lighting red. the lightly sand, 2nd coat. Clean up the rim.

re clear the rim..

Am i fubard in the head for considering this?

btw you won't be the first to tell me that.

Ugh, I dont think the red would look good in there. MAYBE paint the face of the wheel black, leave the insides silver? Or vica-versa....

I am not a fan at all, of colour on wheels.

I've considered that. If i did that route i'd powder coat them black and red... black out red on the triangle..

However I don't really want to go black..... I have so much of it in the interior...

WOw .. thats a great idea.. it would look awesome.. IMO you should deffinately powdercoat the triangles red.. and painting wont hold up that great. P/C is the best way.

when u do it .. send me a pic cause its deff. really cool!

when you do a powder coat you haveto heat the item up, soo i was thinkint that doing this may destroy the exsisting paint that you wont be covering.

well for powder coating them you'd have to bead blast them, then clean them, then powder them what ever base color then tape off and powder the 2nd red tone on.

then bake it.
I dunno yet.

I Think the rims could look better, Cleaner, with more style that would bring out their lines.

however the look pretty damn good now. Best OEM rims i have ever seen.

so here's the short there may be 2-3 ways to improve on them.

and a billion to **** them up...
